Lokesh have given proofs through his post on X that his updated film Coolie is soon to go back on track and the rumours of the project of being shelved are not true.
The collaboration film of Rajinikanth and Lokesh which is titled as Coolie has been a hot topic in the souch film industry since it’s announcement. But there have been rumours that the film has been shelved. Scroll down to know the truth.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to his X and cleared up all the speculations about his film Coolie. Lokesh posted a picture on his X which features Rajinikanth with himself for the look test of the film. The shooting of the film is to commence from July. There have been rumours that the film Coolie is shelved after Lokesh removed the film’s title from his social media handle. Due to this, rumours have been spread that the project have been canceled before the commencement of the shooting.
But later it was clarified that Lokesh typically avoids listening the names of his films on the social media until they pass the censorship. This led the rumours before his previous film Leo too. The film starred Thalapathy Vijay. Lokesh in his latest post have clarified that the film Coolie is on making.
The film Coolie is to be marked as Lokesh’s fifth directorial venture and his first collaboration with the legend superstar Rajinikanth. The director has hinted earlier this year that his has plans to showcase Rajinikanth in a negetive role in this standalone film. The movie is not a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
A shot trailer of the film has been released in April which revealed the title of the film which generated a lot excitement. It was also announced that the veteran actor Sathyaraj is to join the project which will reunite with Rajinikanth after almost 40 years. The film Coolie is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Girish Gangadharan, known for his work with Lokesh Kanagaraj on the 2022 film Vikram is the director of photography. The editing is to be done by Anbariv duo.
So it can be said that the film Coolie is on track and it will be released soon.
