Finally actor Rakul Preet Singh spills the beans about her role in Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film, Indian 2. She calls her role the most special one in her career. The movie Indian 2 is the sequel of Shankar’s movie Indian (1996).
Rakul Preet Singh thinks working with Kamal Haasan in Indian 2 was an enriching experience. She has been eagerly waiting for the release of the film. She also says that she connects with the role in a personal level.
Rakul have shared the insights about her character in the movie and said, “It is surely one of the most special films of my career. Not just for the people that I am working with but also because of my character”.
She further added, “I play a headstrong, confident girl, who knows exactly what she wants. And somewhere, I resonate completely with this character in my real life. It’s too early to disclose more, but yes, it’s been a delight to work with Shankar sir, pulling off this character by picking up from the nuances he shared with me,”
Indian 2 will hit the theaters on July 12. Kamal Haasan, lead 9f the film took to his X and shared the news of the new release date of the film and wrote, “#Indian2 Releasing worldwide in cinemas 12th July 2024!”
The sequel of the film Indian has been tagged as Zero Tolerance. The movie has been in production since 2019. The film will feature Kamal Haasan who will be reprising his role as Senapathy. The movie also casts Kajal Aggarwal and Siddharth in crucial roles.
Indian 2 was temporarily put on hold after a crew on sete got injured in 2020 and also due to COVID-19 pandemic. The film was again been resumed in 2022. Shankar had to juggle between Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer film Game Changer.
The film Indian casted actors like, Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkat, Kasthuri Shankar and Kamal Haasan. Kamal Haasan had a dual role in the movie which were Senapathy and Chandru, a righteous father and a corrupt son. The movie tells the story of Army veteran who turnd vigilante to teach a lesson to the corrupt officials and ensure that they don’t take bribes. The music was given by AR Rahman.
Besides Indian 2 Rakul has films like De De Pyaar De 2 and Mere Husband Ki Biwi in her kitty. She will be also a part of film Ameeri. Neena Gupta, Chunky Pandey and Simone Singh will be her co-stars.
