Vijay Sethupathi Heartbroken Over Super Deluxe’s Oscars Snub
Vijay Sethupathi shared his disappointment when his film “Super Deluxe” wasn’t chosen as India’s official Oscars entry. Despite the movie receiving numerous awards and accolades, it was bypassed in favor of “Gully Boy.” Speaking about the incident, Sethupathi expressed how shattered he and the team felt. He attributed the decision to politics, stating that something happened behind the scenes.
The 2019 Tamil-language film, “Super Deluxe,” featured Vijay Sethupathi in a significant role alongside Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Ramya Krishnan. The movie, directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, weaves together four distinct stories happening on the same day in the lives of different individuals.
Looking ahead, Vijay Sethupathi is set to appear with Katrina Kaif in the upcoming Sriram Raghavan directorial “Merry Christmas,” scheduled for release on January 12, 2024.
