Tabu after her immense success of ‘Crew‘, is now all set to join ‘Dune: Prophecy’ which is a prequel series of director Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster film franchise.
According to the report in entertainment outlet Variety, Tabu will be playing the role of sister Francesca which is described as ‘strong, intelligent and alluring’ character.
According to the makers, “Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital,”
Villeneuve’s 2001 and 2024 features the adaptations of Frank Herbert’s “Dune” novels. Charlotte Rampling plays the role of Revered Mother Mohiam, the Emperor’s Bene Gesserit Truthsayer.
Paul Atreides, the protagonist was played by Timothee Chalamet. Lady Jessica was the Bene Gesserit mother of the protagonist.
HBO Max series ‘Dunr: Prophecu’ was hailed from the Legendary Television which was set 10,000 years before the events of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ and is based on the novel ‘Sisterhood of Dune’ by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. The series was previously titled as, Dune: The Sisterhood’.
The officials said, “Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”
Tabu previously was part of many international projects such as, “The Namesake”, “Life of Pi”, and the BBC miniseries “A Suitable Boy”. At home, the National Award winner’s credits include titles such as “Andhadhun”, “Maqbool”, “Haider”, “Bhool Bhulaiyya 2”, and “Drishyam”.
The premiere date of ‘Dune: Prophecy’ is not announced yet by the makers. The series also casts, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
The showrunner and the executive producer of the series is Alison Schapker alongeith Diane Ademu-John who as also co-developed the series. The executive producer of the series is Anna Foerster. She has also directed a couple of multiple episodes which also includes the first one.
Villeneuve’s two ‘Dunr’ have globally earned over USD 1.1 billion collectively along with the third film which is under development.
