Sanjay Leela Bhansali Opens Up On Allegations Of Losing Temper On Set; Says, “If I’m Not Getting What I Want…”

There have been reports of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali loosing his temper on the sets.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has gifted us with some of the most fantastic movies which includes Khamoshi: The Musical, Devdas, Gangubai Kathiawadi and many more. SLB marked his debut in the OTT platform with the series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazar. The series is about the courtesans during the pre-independence period. So far the series has received mixed reviews.

Many superstars dream to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The filmmaker is capable to bring out the best from every star. He has worked with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and others. Besides discussing his crafts, there have also been reports of him loosing his temper on the sets.

In a recent interview Bhansali said that when he is on sets, he becomes possessed and obsessed about his work. He always reaches on the sets before an hour or two. He wants the same dedication from his actors and technicians. The director also don’t want anyone to be on the phone and wants his cast and crew to give everything. He said, “And I do long takes, lengthy shots. It’s difficult for them. I’m throwing the challenge at you; I’m throwing the ace at you. You have to throw three aces back at me. And if you don’t, you have to wait in the van for a little while and come back”.

Bhansali added further, “If I’m not getting what I want, even if I lose my temper, what is wrong in it? If you’re not getting a shot, and if someone is spoiling it, what will you do? People have made stories that I’m angry, that I’m badly behaved. What we go through on the set is not important. What we create on set for the world is important. When I shouted at somebody or got angry with somebody or laughed and joked with somebody, it’s never going to be remembered. What car I came in, what palatial house I live in, nobody is interested. I want to know what Raj Kapoor left behind, not the bungalow that he lived in, not the turmoil on his set or what his actors went through.”

Bhansali’s upcoming project is Love & War. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Ranbir Kapoor has also shared about the challenges he had to face while working with Bhansali in his film Saawariya. Ranbir has named Bhansali as ‘hard task-master’. Bhansali and Ranbir are collaborating again after 17 years.
