In a recent revelation, Namashi Chakraborty, son of Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty, has shared a surprising incident involving superstar Salman Khan. During a candid conversation with Lehren Retro, Namashi recounted an encounter with Salman Khan on the sets of his 2021 film “Radhe,” where the actor allegedly made intimidating remarks towards him, albeit in a jovial manner.
Namashi recalled the incident, stating that he had just wrapped up the shoot of his own film, “Bad Boy,” when he decided to pay a visit to Salman Khan on the sets of “Radhe” in Mumbai. However, his gesture of respect, wherein he went to touch Salman’s feet, was met with an unexpected response. Namashi revealed, “I went and touched his feet, and I can say this on camera, he said, ‘Fk off’. He gave me a hug and said, ‘I am as old as you are, don’t do this bullst with me. If you ever do this again, especially if Disha Patani is sitting here, I’m going to throw you off the set’.”
Namashi went on to highlight the unwritten rule of not touching Salman Khan’s feet, indicating that the incident was perhaps a lighthearted way for Salman to enforce this rule. Despite the initial shock, Namashi seemed to take the encounter in good spirits, showcasing his respect for Salman Khan’s authority and presence in the industry.
Adding to the conversation, Namashi’s brother, Mimoh, showered praise on Salman Khan, describing him as a “very perceptive man” who possesses a deep understanding of the workings of the film industry. Mimoh’s endorsement of Salman’s insightfulness further underscores the actor’s influence and reputation within the Bollywood fraternity.
Moreover, Namashi expressed gratitude towards the industry stalwarts who have supported their family over the years. He mentioned luminaries like Shah Rukh Khan, Jackie Shroff, and Govinda, who have stood by them through thick and thin. Mimoh also acknowledged Salman Khan and Karan Johar for their unwavering support during challenging times, particularly when Mimoh’s films faced setbacks at the box office.
Despite experiencing a setback with his debut film “Bad Boy,” which failed to make an impact at the box office in 2023, Namashi remains undeterred in his pursuit of a successful Bollywood career. He is set to make his next appearance in a project helmed by veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, indicating his resilience and determination to carve a niche for himself in the industry.
Namashi Chakraborty’s candid revelation about his interaction with Salman Khan offers a glimpse into the dynamics of Bollywood and the unique protocols observed within the industry. While the incident may have been unconventional, it sheds light on the camaraderie and respect shared among peers, even amidst playful banter and jest.
