Queen 2: Vikas Bahl Confirms Sequel to Kangana Ranaut’s Queen

In 2014, Vikas Bahl directed the movie Queen, starring Kangana Ranaut, which became a huge success at the box office and catapulted Kangana to stardom. Even after a decade, people fondly remember the film, with the song London Thumakda becoming a staple at Indian weddings. Rumors about a sequel to Queen have circulated, and recently, Vikas confirmed in an interview that the script for the sequel is now complete.

Speaking to News 18 Showsha, the filmmaker expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s been ten years since Queen’s release, but the continuous inquiries about Queen 2 make it feel like the film came out just yesterday! I am pleased to announce that we have finished crafting the story. So, yes, the sequel is in the works.”

Vikas emphasized that he didn’t want to compromise the quality of the film for monetary gains, stating, “If I didn’t feel the pressure to meet the expectations for the sequel, I would have made it purely for profit four years ago.” Last year, Vikas had shared that the script for Queen 2 was in progress, confirming Kangana’s return. Kangana, on her Instagram story, had corroborated the news with an enthusiastic “Yessss.” It’s worth noting that Kangana had previously won a National Award for her performance in Queen.

Fans of Kangana can anticipate seeing her reprising the role of Rani on the big screen. While the actress has been primarily involved in serious films lately, the prospect of her returning to a slice-of-life film is sure to delight her admirers.

Queen also featured Rajkummar Rao in a lead role, leaving fans curious about his involvement in the sequel. The wait continues for more details.

Meanwhile, Vikas Bahl is preparing for the release of Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyotika, scheduled to hit theaters on March 8, 2024.
