Munjya have been released on OTT. Soon after the release, netizens have started to compare the movie with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s latest release Stree 2. Here’s their opinion.
This year, Maddock came up with their two horror comedy movies which are Munjya and Stree 2. Munja was released in June and Stree 2 hit the theatres on August 15. Munjya have been released on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on Saturday. The movie features Abhay Varma and Sharvari. Right after the release of the movie, nitizens have been sharing their opinion on social media. Some of them have also started comparing the movie with Rajkumar and Shraddha’s Stree 2.
Many think that Abhay Varma and Sharvari’s Munjya is much better than Stree 2 and they even called it to be Maddock Film’s best movie. The supernatural or horror-comedy universe, also features Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. However others also claimed that the best one was the Stree franchise. A user tweeted, “#Munjya is the best film in the Maddock supernatural universe; it isn’t a perfect film, but it is better than the other films in that universe.”
Another post read, “#Munjya is easily the better film compared to #Stree2.” The entertainment news piece become more interesting when some came up in defence of Stree 2. “#Stree2 is a better film than #Munjya.” Another fan wrote that Munya is a one-time watch, and people can watch it for future reference in Maddock’s horror universe. They even believe that it’s better than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but not as great as Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree or Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya.
Munjya was a superhit at the box office. It is one of the best movies of 2024, which crossed ₹100 crore at the box office. On the other hand, Stree 2 has surpassed the Rs 500 crore worldwide box office collection so far. The movie have been directed by Amar Kaushik. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
The horror-comedy universe is all set to expand after the confirmation of working on Stree 2. Varun Dhawan is to return in Bhediya 2. Munjya’s ending have also hinted that there’s more in the story, and a sequel is expected to the same. Also, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Vampire movie is hinted indirectly in the end credits scene of Stree 2. Fans will have to wait till the official announcement of the same.
