Kangana Ranaut Explains Her Absence From Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s Lavish Wedding Celebration: Says “Main Avoid Hi Karti Hoon Zyada Filmy…”

Kangana Ranaut recently opened up about why she was absent from the highly publicized wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which took place in July this year. The event, which was nothing short of a grand spectacle, drew the attention of the entire country, especially the entertainment industry. It was one of the most talked-about weddings of the year, with a guest list that read like a who’s who of Bollywood and international celebrities. Despite the glitz and glamour, one of the most notable absences was that of Kangana Ranaut, who many expected to see among the star-studded attendees. Kangana, who is currently engrossed in promoting her upcoming film, Emergency, addressed the curiosity surrounding her absence in a recent interview. Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, a well-known interviewer, Kangana clarified that she did receive an invitation to the wedding. In fact, she shared that Anant Ambani himself personally called her to invite her to the wedding festivities. This invitation, coming from one of the most prominent families in India, was undoubtedly significant. However, Kangana explained that despite the invitation and the personal touch, she had to decline the offer due to a family commitment that coincided with the wedding date.

Kangana revealed that her younger brother was getting married on the same day as Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which made it impossible for her to attend the grand affair. Family, according to Kangana, comes first, and she chose to prioritize her brother’s wedding over the star-studded event. She expressed that this decision was rooted in her deep connection with her family and her belief in being there for her loved ones during their special moments.

In the same interview, Kangana also touched upon her general reluctance to attend too many film industry weddings. She shared that while she has great respect for her colleagues in the industry, she prefers to keep her social calendar selective and doesn’t feel the need to be present at every event. This stance is reflective of Kangana’s well-known independent streak and her preference for staying focused on her work and personal life rather than engaging in the frequent socializing that comes with being a Bollywood star.

Meanwhile, the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant was nothing short of a fairy tale. The Ambani family pulled out all the stops to make the event memorable, with several pre-wedding events that featured performances by global music superstars such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber. The wedding, which spanned several days, was attended by the biggest names in Bollywood, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt, among others. International celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and John Cena also graced the event, adding to its global appeal. As for Kangana, she is gearing up for the release of her much-anticipated political drama, Emergency, where she will be seen portraying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which Kangana has also directed, features a stellar cast, including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, and Shreyas Talpade. Set to release in theatres on September 6, 2024, Emergency is one of the most awaited films of the year and marks another significant milestone in Kangana’s illustrious career.

Kangana’s decision to miss the Ambani wedding, despite the grandeur and the celebrity presence, highlights her commitment to her family and her priorities. It also underscores her unique position in the film industry, where she continues to chart her own path, balancing her professional commitments with her personal values.
