Recently, Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee shared some behind-the-scenes insights while speaking to News18 Showsha from Bangladesh. He recounted his experience of shooting the film’s climax, where his character Manas drags Deepika’s pregnant Sumathi by her hair after his army invades Shambhala. This intense scene was part of the final stages of filming, which took place in Mumbai, coinciding with Deepika’s pregnancy. Saswata highlighted that Ranveer Singh, Deepika’s husband, was present on set, dressed in a striking orange ensemble from head to toe, supporting his wife throughout the physically demanding shoot. Saswata mentioned that he informed Ranveer about the availability of a body double for such challenging scenes, to which Ranveer, with a knowing smile, responded, “I know, Dada.”
In an interview with ETimes, director Nag Ashwin confirmed the unique involvement of Deepika’s unborn child in the film. Ashwin revealed that Deepika was indeed pregnant during the final days of shooting, and there were two specific days when her actual child made a cameo appearance in the movie. This intriguing tidbit adds an extra layer of interest and charm to the film, marking a special moment for the Padukone-Singh family.
