61 year old filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to his social media account on Thursday and announced his entry into politics. He made this ‘sudden’ announcement by saying he will be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh. He will stand from Pithapuram, Andhra Pradesh.

Ram Gopal Varma announced his decision soon after the Telugu Desam Party – Bhartiya Janata Party -Jana Sena Party (JSP) alliance declared that tollywood actor and JSP chief Pawan Kalyan would be fielded from the Pithapuram. After Ram Gopal Varma shared the post,many of the social media users have not believed it on the other hand many have congratulated him for the same.
