The 69th Filmfare Awards 2024 were a night of triumph and recognition. Alia Bhatt secured the Best Actress Award for her stellar performance in “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” triumphing over strong contenders like Rani Mukerji and Taapsee Pannu.
Ranbir Kapoor clinched the Best Actor title for his role in “Animal,” a film that bagged an impressive six awards, leading the winners’ circle. Meanwhile, the critically acclaimed “12th Fail” took home the Best Film award, with Vidhu Vinod Chopra earning the Best Director accolade.
Other notable winners include Vikrant Massey, who received the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor for his role in “12th Fail.” The Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress was shared by Rani Mukerji (“Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway”) and Shefali Shah (“Three Of Us”).
Supporting roles were acknowledged with Vicky Kaushal winning Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) for “Dunki,” and Shabana Azmi earning Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.”
Newcomers also made their mark, with Tarun Dudeja winning Best Debut Director for “Dhak Dhak,” Alizeh Agnihotri named Best Debut Actor (Female) for “Farrey,” and Aditya Rawal honored as Best Debut Actor (Male) for “Faraaz.”
The night included special recognitions, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to David Dhawan. The music categories celebrated talents like Bhupinder Babbal (Best Playback Singer – Male) and Shilpa Rao (Best Playback Singer – Female).
