Actress Yami Gautam has embarked on a thrilling journey with her latest film, Article 370, shot against the picturesque backdrop of Kashmir. Portraying the role of officer Zooni, Yami, for the first time, delves into action-packed sequences that have resonated globally. The film’s success is attributed not only to Yami’s impressive performance but also to her commitment to mastering the art of on-screen stunts.
In preparation for her role, Yami underwent rigorous training under the guidance of Military Advisor, Lt Col Keshvendra Singh (Retd), and Weapon training instructor Bhushan Vartak (NSG). Reflecting on her experience, Yami expressed her excitement about engaging in weapon combat and stunts, highlighting that actual Army Personnel trained her for these demanding scenes. Her commitment is evident as she constantly sought feedback from her coach, action director, and trainer, ensuring her performance met the highest standards.
Precision and authenticity were crucial aspects, as Yami emphasized the importance of not only handling weapons proficiently but also ensuring that her gaze accurately conveyed the intensity required for cinematic impact. Despite the challenges, Yami found joy in the process and credited her mentors for guiding her through the complexities of action sequences.
Article 370, a high-octane action political drama, is a collaboration between Jio Studios and the makers of Uri: The Surgical Strike. Directed by National Award-winner Aditya Suhas Jambhale and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar, the film hit cinemas worldwide on 23rd February 2024.
