Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has proved him time and again. He regrets of not becoming a good father to his daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap.
Anurag first married Aarti Bajaj and their daughter of Aaliyah Kashyap. He then married actress Kalki Koechlin. They have then parted ways in Mumbai in 2015.
Anurag started his creative journey as a screenwriter. The filmmaker recently had a candid chat for a podcast with his daughter. There the filmmaker have revealed about his past relationships and has also shared why he thinks he is a ‘terrible father’.
Aaliyah Kashyap has invited her father Anurag Kashyap for her recent podcast. They he has shared his personal issues. Aaliyah asked ger father about the impact of his two divorces in his life. She also asked if he wants to marry for third time.
Anurag replied, “I have realized that I am not a relationship person.” The director have also reasoned that he would not because of his obsession his work. He also stated that he could be good in relationships if he was born in Europe and made films there.
Anurag said, “Because there is a royalty system. Because the money would keep coming in. But here, there is no royalty; there’s no system like that. So, I have to make more films at a higher frequency as compared to someone who is working with a big star, who is making one film in five years.”
In the podcast, Anurag was asked about parenting. Aaliyah asked him what kind of parent he thinks he was to her. Anurag said himself a ‘terrible parent’ and said, “I think I have been like a friend to you than actually a father and I know you miss that. Your mother has actually been your mom. She has been my mom and for a couple of years, she was also my dad.” He further added, “I think I am a terrible father. I am a set father.”
Aaliyah by denying his opinion said that Anurag was a friend to her. She stated, “I just want a sibling. Since I was a kid, I was an only child. I thought since you and mom are divorced, both of you will date different people and I will get at least one sibling from one of you”. Anurag replied, “Your father is too old to father a child.”
Currently Anurag is busy with his upcoming Tamil film One 2 One. The director gained immense fame with his two parts of crime series Gangs of Wasseypur.
