As per Mumbai police, the suspects in the case are known as the serial thieves who operate across Mumbai. They used to use auto rickshaws to facilitate their crime.
Mumbai’s Oshiwara police apprehended two men who have been suspected of robbing actor Anupam Kher’s office in Mumbai’s Andheri West’s Veera Desai road. The identified individuals are named Majid Sheikh and Mohammad Daler Bahrim Khan. The thiefs have been arrested from the Jogeshwari area of Mumbai.
According to the police, the serial thieves have been operating accross various parts of the city in auto rickshaws and facilitated their crime.
On the same day, the robbery at Anupam Kher’s office has been coincided with another theft in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area. This underscored a spree of criminal activities in the city.
Another incident took place on the same day at an office which is situated in Mumbai’s Andheri Veera Desai area. A case has been registered to Amboli police against an unidentified perpetrator. The case has been filed under sections 454, 457 and 380 under the Indian Pennel Code (IPC) pertaining to house-breaking and theft. The authorities have initiated a thorough investigation regarding the matter.
As per the Mumbai police officials, the thefts entered actor Anupam’s office premises forcefully during the night. They then stole the cash and valuables which ammounted approximately of ₹4.15 lakh. Anupam took to his Instagram earlier on the day and wrote, “Two thieves were involved in the crime. They broke through two doors and stole a safe from the accounts department, which they could not open. They also took the negatives of a film produced by the company, which were kept in a box”.
The actor also mentioned that his office promptly filed an FIR which expressed confidence in the police’s assurance of capturing the culprits soon. He wrote, “Our office has got an FIR done. And police have assured thieves will be caught very soon.”
The CCTV footage of the crime scene showed that the thieves have been fleeing in an auto-rickshaw with the stolen items. This provided a strong evidence which would help in further investigation.
