Dibakar Banerjee’s latest release had a slow start at the box office. The film stitches threw seperate stories together that reflects the obsession with social media in the current generation and had received mixed reviews after its release. According to Sacnilk.com, the movie has minted an Rs.41 lakh nett in India on Sunday.
The report also adds that LSD 2 has overall 6.02% Hindi occupancy on its first Sunday. The film has earned Rs.15 lakh nett in India on day 1, on day 2 the nett income was Rs.12 lakh. On the day 3 the film has managed to mint around Rs.68 lakh in theaters.
Dibakar had talked about the themes of the film in an interview with Hindustan Times and said, “I think what we are saying is that we are living with two or three contradictory truths at the same time. Every moment of us. We are not living one truth, we are living the truth of our physical lives; we are living the absolute, indelible truth of our virtual avatars; we are living the truth of our Instagram feeds. All of them are truths!”
The film is about the three lives of individuals, Kulu aka Bonita Rajpurohit, Paapi aka Abhinav Singh and Noor aka Paritosh whose stories are interlinked with each other as they navigate the complexities of living in a generation which I’d obsessed with social media and the internet. The film is prosperous by Ekta Kapoor.
