The team of Kalki 2898 AD took to their and by sharing the poster of the film claimed that the film has made more than ₹191.5 crore gross worldwide at the box office in all the languages on day 1. Taran Adarsh, Trade analyst took to his X and shared that the film has collected ₹27.5 crore alone in Hindi collections. He wrote that despite of the semi-final match between India and England, the film performed well.

Producer Swapna Dutt, took to X and shared that they made the film for the love of cinema and not to break records. She penned a note which read, , “It’s very amazing that people are calling or asking, Did we cross records? It’s hilarious because guys who create or created these records never make films for the records. We make for the audience. We make for the love of cinema. The film Kalki 2898 AD is the story of bounty hunter called Bhairava portrayed by Prabhas. He wants to earn enough units to live in the Complex. The movie is a mixture of sci-fi elements with Indian mythology, specially Mahabharata which is taking place after 6000 years. The character of Ashwatthamaa is portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan who roams the earth and hopes to redeem himself by helping Kalki who is the final avatar of Lord Vishnu. Deepika portrays the role of SU-M80 and Kamal Hassan portrays the role of Supreme Yaskin.
