Vidya Balan is finally back on the big screen with her film Do Aur Do Pyaar after a long gap. The film was released on April 19.
Do Aur Do Pyaar is directed by Shirsha Guha Takurta. The film stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Sacnilk.com has reported that the film has earned half a crore at the box office for day 1.
Industry tracker has stated that Do Aur Do Pyaar has earned approximately Rs. 50 Lakh at the box office. The release of the film coincided with the Cinema Lovers Day in which many theaters offered buy one get one offer on tickets. According to the website, the film is expected to perform well at the box office.
Overall it is witnessed a poor occupancy of 9.10% on Friday. In Mumbai with 244 shows, the film showed a occupancy of 13%. In Delhi-NCR, with 323 shows the film showed a occupancy of 7%. In Chennai the film covered the highest occupancy of 28% with only seven shows.
The film was released alongside of Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2. The movie also had to compete with last week’s releases which are Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan.
Hindustan Time’s review abou the film read, “Do Aur do Pyaar isn’t just a satirical take on modern-day couples and their relationships, neither it’s a frivolous rom-com that never delves into real issues. It’s a far mature, and somewhat bold tale that expresses and explores the rawness of relationships, keeping the humour element at the core. Watch it for some easy breezy and endearing performances, and storytelling that’s simple yet so impactful.”
In the film Kavya Ganeshan aka Vidya and Anirudh Banerjee aka Pratik is married for 12 years after dating for 3 years. Both then have an extra-marital affair and are looking for the perfect moment to come clean to each other. Kavya is building dreams with a hot photographer Vikram aka Sendhil while Anirudh had found love in Nora aka Rosie(Ileana) who eventually gets pregnant and instead of confessing the truth, Kavya and Anirudh end up reuniting their romance.
Vidya Balan will soon be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 along with Kartik Aryan and Anees Bazmee. Pratik’s upcoming projects are Phule, Dedh Bigha Zameen, Wog Ladki Hain Kahaam? and Dhoom Dham.
