TMKOC’s Gurucharan Singh Opens Up About His Disappearance For 25 Days: Had No Plans Of Coming Back

Gurucharan Singh, best known for his role as Roshan Sodhi in the TV show “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” went missing on April 22 and returned after 25 days. Recently, he shared with the Bombay Times what happened during this period. The COVID-19 pandemic deeply affected him, leading him to leave Mumbai in 2020 and move to Delhi to be with his father, who was undergoing surgery.

After moving to Delhi, Singh tried to start several businesses, but none of them succeeded. He explained, “Either the work wasn’t done properly or the people I collaborated with disappeared. We also have a property dispute going on for years, and a lot of money was spent on that, too. So, because of all this, my finances got badly affected, and I was very disturbed.” Singh, who has always been spiritual thanks to his parents, turned to God during this challenging time and went on a spiritual journey, initially without plans to return. There were rumors that his disappearance was a publicity stunt, with some suggesting that he could have used interviews or social media to address his pending dues from “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” Singh refuted these claims, saying, “Even after coming back home, I didn’t give any interviews, but now I am speaking up because I want to clarify certain things that people are saying about me.”

Gurucharan stressed that his disappearance was a genuine quest for peace during a troubled time, not a stunt. Now that he’s back, he’s determined to work hard to pay off all his loans and debts. Looking ahead, the 51-year-old actor expressed his desire to settle down soon, sharing plans for marriage. His return marks a new chapter as he aims to rebuild his career and personal life, focusing on stability and fulfilling his commitments.
