Recently Ranveer Singh’s AI generated video in which he was seen endorsing political party went viral. The actor has now filed a complaint of his deepfake video.
Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson has confirmed that the actor had lodged a police complaint and FIR for the investigation by the the Cyber Crime Cell. He filed the complaint days after his his deepfake video was circulated in different social media platforms.
Spokesperson of Ranveer said, “Yes, we have filed the police complaint and FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Mr Ranveer Singh.” In the video Ranveer can be heard voicing his political views. The video was from the actor’s recent visit to Varanasi which is genuine but the audio is of an AI-synthesised voice of Ranveer.
Recently Ranveer was the showstopper at an open-air fashion show by the Ganga in Varanasi. The show was organised by the fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Ranveer spoke highly of the changes that came about in terms of the public infrastructure overhaul during his visit to the city. He also shared his ‘divine ‘ experience of the city.
Ranveer took to his Instagram stories and by sharing a post he wrote, “Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes).”
On the work font Ranveer will be seen reprising his role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. Ranveer will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 which is to release in 2025.
Ranveer’s last release was Karam Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film also featured Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and others.
