Parineeti Chopra expressed her gratitude on Instagram following the overwhelming response to her latest film “Amar Singh Chamkila,” co-starring Diljit Dosanjh. In a heartfelt post, she wrote, “I am back and not going anywhere.”
The movie, directed by Imtiaz Ali, premiered on Netflix last Friday and has garnered praise from audiences and critics alike since its release. Inspired by the real-life story of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot, who met a tragic end, the performances of both Parineeti and Diljit have been hailed as brilliant.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Parineeti’s cousin, also joined in the chorus of praise, sharing a still from the film on social media and congratulating the team. The positive feedback continued to pour in, prompting Parineeti to take to Instagram to express her gratitude. Alongside stills from the movie, she wrote, “Curled up in my blanket. Overwhelmed with your words, calls, and movie reviews. ‘PARINEETI IS BACK.’ These words are ringing loud. Yes, I am back, and not going anywhere!”
While basking in the acclaim, Parineeti also expressed her hope for more opportunities from renowned directors. Responding to a fan’s tweet praising her versatility from “Ishaqzaade” to “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar” and now “Amar Singh Chamkila,” she expressed her desire for more substantial roles, stating, “Hoping this changes after Chamkila. Want to do lots of good work, waiting for good directors to call me!”
Prior to the success of “Amar Singh Chamkila,” Parineeti’s previous film outing was “Mission Raniganj” in the previous year, which did not fare well at the box office. However, with the positive reception of her latest biopic, the tide may be turning for the actress. As of now, Parineeti has not announced her next project, but with the momentum from “Amar Singh Chamkila,” exciting opportunities may be on the horizon.
