Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao’s sequel of Stree (2018) is in making. Abhishek Banerjee has won hearts with his character Jana from Stree. He had started his journey as a casting director and had been a part of films like Rang De Basanti, No One Killed Jessica and Go Goa Gone.
Abhishek by talking about the sequel of Stree said, “Stree is a hit franchise. People have accepted it and are hoping for something big this time. It tends to make you nervous because you know ki agar acceptance ho chuki hai toh expectations are much higher. However, it’s good to have a nervous energy going on when good work is coming. This franchise shows me in a comic space and it’s for the first-time people saw me in a different shade.”
“Stree 2 is also going to be bigger and double the kind of fun. All the actors are skin deep into their characters. I had a lot of fun with Apar (Aparshakti Khurana) and Shraddha. It was a reunion of sorts. I was telling my co-actors ki for me it was more of nostalgia as we landed up in the galiyas of Chanderi. It was my first film (as an actor in a prominent role). And first times are always special.” He continued.
Actor Pankaj Tripathi shared a significant update about the second installment of the film through his Instagram AMA session.
Stree 2 is directed by Amar Kaushik. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz and Aparshakti Khurana. Tamannaah Bhatia will also be seen in a cameo appearance. The film is set to hit the theaters on August 30, 2024.
Amar Kaushik have directed Stree in 2018 with Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The film was well-received by netizens. The film was followed by Varun Dhawan’s horror-comedy film Bhediya in which Kriti Sanon was his co-star. The post-credit scene of the film informed us that Stree and Bhediya universe will meet in further projects. Both the sequel of Stree and Bhediya will continue with this storyline.
Abhishek Banerjee signed off by sharing an update of Stree 2‘s progress. He said, “We are working on the post-production of the film. The VFX will take a lot of time. The director of the film Amar Kaushik is a perfectionist. He works on the film till the time he isn’t happy about it.”
