Manushi Chillar, renowned for her graceful demeanor as Miss World, faced a challenging phase in her Bollywood journey with the disappointing reception of “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan“. Starring alongside stalwarts Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, the film failed to resonate with audiences, swiftly exiting theaters within a mere fortnight. Garnering a meager 53 crore rupees in its ten-day run, the outcome proved disheartening for the entire cast and crew.
Reflecting on this setback, Manushi Chillar candidly shared her perspective in a recent interview with Times Now. She emphasized the importance of patience in her acting odyssey, acknowledging the absence of overnight success in her life. Despite diligent efforts, she accepted the unpredictable nature of the industry, recognizing that not every endeavor yields the desired outcome. Her aspiration remains anchored in delivering quality performances and exploring diverse roles rather than fixating on box office figures beyond her control.
In her own words, “I was like ‘Arey, mere to life me bohot kuchh overnight hua hai’. Not that I haven’t worked hard for it. But I used to think that if I’m focused and dedicated, then I am sure I will get something out of it, and I have gotten something out of everything. But yes, as an actor, you want your films to do well. You want people to watch you, to like you, like the film and enjoy and have a good time and feel entertained.”
Manushi’s pragmatic approach resonates in her acceptance of the ebb and flow of showbiz. She reiterated, “Sometimes, it doesn’t happen which is completely normal. That’s something I have made peace with. For me, the only thing is I need to be doing a good job and exploring new things. I need to also have filmmakers see me do something on screen. So, I think that was my takeaway. Box office numbers are something that, as an actor, you don’t have any control over so whatever I don’t have control of, I don’t think much of it.”
Her resilience in the face of adversity is evident as she gracefully acknowledges the limitations of her influence over commercial outcomes. This philosophical stance underscores her commitment to personal growth and artistic fulfillment.
Notably, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” marked Manushi’s second collaboration with Akshay Kumar, following their debut in “Samrat Prithviraj” (2022). However, both ventures failed to make a mark at the box office. Akshay Kumar, too, had pinned high hopes on “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” in his quest for a substantial hit, but the film fell short of expectations.
Despite the disappointments, Manushi Chillar remains undeterred, her focus unwavering on honing her craft and embracing new challenges. Her journey serves as a testament to resilience in the face of adversity, inspiring aspiring artists to persevere despite the uncertainties inherent in the entertainment industry. As she navigates the highs and lows of showbiz, Manushi Chillar’s unwavering spirit shines as a beacon of hope and determination.
