Ae Watan Mere Watan Review: Did Sara Ali Khan Do Justice to Usha Mehta’s Struggle for Independence?

Sara Ali Khan’s latest release Ae Watan Mere Watan is streaming on Prime Video. The film is helmed by Kannan Iyer, written by Darab Farooqui and produced by Karan Johar. The film has received mixed reactions in Twitter.

The film is an attempt to narrate the unsung hero Usha Mehta. Khanna’s film showcases Usha Mehta, a young woman who started an underground radio station in 1942.

The story of Ae Watan Mere Watan was too slow. Despite of the subject being good, the story wasn’t well implanted. Thre are very rare movies that talks about lesser known heroes. But unfortunately Sara Ali Khan couldn’t do justice to the story. Sara’s awful dialogue delivery and mismatched expressions turned out to be a roadblock. The movie was unable to give those goosebumps which a freedom movie does.

The film also casts Sparsh Shrivastava, Emran Hashmi, Alexx O’Nell, Abhay Verma, Sachin Khedekar.
