Vikrant Massey has revealed about the making of his sequel of 2023’s biggest hit 12th Fail. The movie was based on the journey of an impoverished man who became an IPS officer which inspired many.
The movie 12th Fail became 2023’s one of the most successful films and found a special place in the hearts of the audience with its inspiring narrative. Considering all the love that the film got, audiences are eager to see its second part which will continue the journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma.
Vikrant Massey gained popularity overnight after he played the lead role in 12th Fail. The actor has now revealed about a potential sequel of the movie. But fans might get disappointment to know that the actor is not very keen for making the sequel of 12th Fail.
Vikrant was seen in an interview in which he was promoting his upcoming film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba which is a sequel of his another hit Haseen Dillruba. During the same interview, the actor was asked about his thoughts on 12th Fail part 2. He gave a disappointing response.
As per the actor, he doesn’t see making of 12th Fail part 2 because he doesn’t know if this is the right time for the sequel. He said, “Now, I’m getting a lot of calls, people are saying let’s do another 12th Fail, but I’m making a conscious shift to pick something different,” He further added, “If I may say so, I really don’t see a 12th Fail part two. According to Vikrant, Haseen Dillruba can get a sequel as it ended at a point which could set up a second part. But it is not the same for 12th Fail. Vikrant said, “When something works, people want more of it, hence Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, but over here, it is applicable because we left off the first part in a way that there was a potential to see what happens in their lives beyond this.”
Vikrant didn’t seem to be eager about the sequel of 12tg Fail. The movie became one of the best hits of his career. The movie has been directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The movie is about the story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who braced through several life challenges, including extreme poverty and become an Indian Police Service officer.
The movie also features Medha Shankr, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma. 12th Fail earned over Rs. 69 crore against a budget of Rs. 20 crore. The film is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
