Vogue has shared the behind-the-scenes video of Alia’s transformation. The footage captivates Alia prepping for her Met Gala appearance inside her hotel room. She was surrounded with her dedicated team of stylists and makeup artists. The did her hair along with her saree drape and makeup.
Alia wore a breathtaking Sabyasachi saree as she walked on the green and cream carpet. The saree was aligned with the theme of Met Gala which was, ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,’ and the dress code was, ‘The Garden Of Time’.
In the BTS video, Alia talks about how well Puneet B Saini, her makeup artist knows her as they worked together for nine years. She also shared that once her sister Shaheen Bhatt got upset as Puneet gave Alia the perfect gift.
Anaita, Alia’s stylist revealed that the saree incorporates all the three elements of Gala’s theme. Embroidered flowers for the land and the blue colour is for sky and water.
The theme also shows other, old Hollywood, Parsi cultures. Alia had shared a image of the vintage hair look she thought of for the night. Amit Thakur, her hairstyle made her what she wanted.
Alia’s designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee while talking about the Indian fashion said that its unique. Alia also recalled when for the first time she wore saree. It was when she was in Class 9 for the occasion of Teacher’s Day. She shared that her saree pleats got undone by the time she reached her school and she ran to the bat6to fix that.
The attire that Alia chose, perfectly aligned with the theme along with encapsulating the essence of timelessness and elegance.
Alia through her Instagram posts shared the glimpse of her Met Gala experience which also included the BTS video of the creation of her exquisite look.
Alia also revealed that to craft the masterpieces, it took 1965 man hours. The actress had also showed gratitude towards the dedicated 163 individuals including master craftspeople, embroideries, artists and dyes who were involved for making the saree.
