Kangana Ranaut Stands by Her Remark Calling Ayushmann Khurrana a ‘Chaploos Outsider’: Says “He Was the One Who…”; Read More to Get Full Details!

Kangana Ranaut has never shied away from making controversial remarks about Bollywood, especially when it comes to star kids. However, even some outsiders have faced her blunt opinions, and one such person is Ayushmann Khurrana. In 2020, Kangana took to social media to call Ayushmann a “chaploos outsider” (which translates to a “flattering outsider”), accusing him of supporting the so-called “movie mafia.” Recently, Kangana defended this statement, claiming that Ayushmann had attacked her first and that he had changed his stance after finding success in the film industry. Kangana, who is known for her bold statements, revisited this episode during an interview on India TV’s popular show Aap Ki Adalat. The show’s host, Rajat Sharma, questioned Kangana about some of her controversial statements, including her harsh criticism of Ayushmann Khurrana. When asked why she labeled Ayushmann a “chaploos,” Kangana responded by saying, “He was the one who attacked me first.”

The Emergency star explained that Ayushmann used to speak highly of her when he was still struggling to establish himself in Bollywood. “Earlier, when he wasn’t successful, he called me a role model in an interview,” she said. According to Kangana, Ayushmann’s attitude shifted once he began landing more film roles. She claimed that after gaining a foothold in the industry, he turned against her, which she believes was part of his effort to gain favor with certain influential figures in Bollywood. “He wanted to flatter somebody to get work,” Kangana remarked. She also expressed her frustration, saying, “In this great ‘virtuous, holy’ industry, nobody has a problem with anybody, only I am the problem.”

The original controversy involving Ayushmann Khurrana surfaced in August 2020, when Kangana accused him of siding with the film industry’s power players. At the time, Ayushmann was criticized by former actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamal R. Khan (also known as KRK) for supporting actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was involved in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, facing allegations related to drug charges. Kangana responded to KRK’s criticism by taking a dig at Ayushmann on Twitter. She tweeted, “Chaploos outsiders support mafia only for one reason and the reason is their mediocrity, nobody is threatened by them and they take full advantage of conflicts faced by few like Kangana and SSR by openly denying and mocking them.”

This comment stirred significant debate, as it highlighted Kangana’s ongoing battle with Bollywood insiders and her vocal support for actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, whom she believed were marginalized by the industry. However, Kangana’s harsh words were not limited to just insiders, as her remarks about Ayushmann showed that even outsiders, if perceived as conforming to the industry norms, were not immune from her criticism. During the same interview on Aap Ki Adalat, Kangana also discussed other controversial remarks, including her comparison of Bollywood star kids to “boiled eggs.” She explained her point of view, saying, “People want to see actors who have been out on the streets, among people, in the sun.” She added that she had to undergo an aging treatment for her role as Indira Gandhi in her upcoming film Emergency. In contrast, she claimed that star kids often go to the gym for every role and rely on treatments like botox to maintain their appearance.

“I’m not criticizing. I’m just saying go out in the sun,” Kangana explained. She went on to mock star kids, particularly focusing on those in their thirties or forties who she feels act much younger than their age. “They come out of their car and say, ‘Hi, I want this, I want that.’ 40-year-old star kids or 30-35-year-old girls wear pink glasses and act like children. No one sees how much trauma I go through, how much torture I go through by being with them,” Kangana added.

In her typical fashion, Kangana has once again stirred conversation with her unapologetic attitude, defending her past comments and standing by her opinions. Whether it’s calling out star kids or outsiders like Ayushmann Khurrana, Kangana’s words continue to draw attention and fuel the ongoing debate around the dynamics of power and privilege in Bollywood.
