Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made his debut in the OTT platform with his series Heeramandi:The Diamond Bazaar. The series have gained immense love and success since its release. Sharmin Segal has assisted her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali for all his recent directorials. Sharmin’s debutant film was Malaal (2019).
In the series Heeramandi, Sharmin portrayed the role of Alamzeb who is the daughter of Heeramandi brothel madam Mallikajaan. She wants to be a poet. Sharmin have been trolled by the viewers for her poor performance. After this, the actor has turned off her comments in the post. She is being trolled for her expressionless acting.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now finally opened up with Hindustan Times about the working experience with Sharmin. She has told Bhansali that she would underplay and Bhansali replied that she thought that she would ask her to overplay.
Bhansali added further that he found her new energy to be fascinating. The filmmaker even said thsy he knew that the new generation of the actors love him and he can see it in the way and they asked him if he is happy. Sharmin also asked Bhansali if he can take one more shot or is she okay?
Bhansali has reunited with Manisha Koirala after 1942: A Love Story. The series also features, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles.
