Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee’s film Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 initiates its box office journey with a modest earning of Rs 0.15 Crore on its first day. The film has hit the theaters on April 19. The romantic drama stars Anshuman Jha, Nushrray Bharuccha and Rajkumar Rao. The film also stars Bonita Rajpurohit, Tusshar Kapoor, Swastika Mukherjee, Mouni Roy, Annu Malik and Urfi Javed.
The sequel of 2010 film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha, did not have good start in theaters on its first day. Sacnilk.com has reported that the on Friday, film has collected an estimate of Rs 15 lakh nett in India. Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 overall had occupancy of 5.48% on day 1.
Once again director Dibakar Banerjee and producer Ekta Kapoor joined hands for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. The film shows stories three about love, sex and betrayal set in digital age.
Much like the first part, the film has three chapters and shows Dibakars take on today’s internet culture. The first story, Like, resolves around Noor aka Paritosh Tiwari who is a transitioning female. The second story, Share, also resolves around a trans woman, Kullu aka Bonita Rajpurohit who works at one of the metro stations and is also a vlogger. The third story, Download, resolves around a young gamer aka Abhinav Santosh Singh, whose thirst for followers lands him in trouble.
A user of X wrote on Friday, “The story of the film is neither special nor good. An attempt has been made to show a particular community. But the audience will probably like it. It depends on the audience,” Another user wrote, “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 is turning out to be a big disaster! Already exhausted… neither song nor anything else so far has inclined me towards liking LSD 2.”
