After Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal has joined the cast of the Telugu film “Kannappa,” marking a notable addition to her recent project selections.
Following the morning announcement by the “Kannappa” film team of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s involvement in this Telugu magnum opus, Hindustan Times has exclusively learned about actor Kajal Aggarwal’s inclusion in the film. An official announcement regarding her participation is expected soon.
Sources reveal that Vishnu Manchu’s “Kannappa” is poised to elevate its stature even further with the addition of top South actor Kajal Aggarwal. The filmmakers are gearing up to make a formal announcement about her involvement in the project shortly.
Previously, Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu, who leads the cast of “Kannappa,” shared on his official social media page, “The #Kannappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the Superstar Mr. Akshay Kumar to the Telugu Film Industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!” He also shared pictures of Akshay Kumar’s meeting with him and his father, the legendary Telugu star Mohan Babu.

Akshay Kumar, currently in Hyderabad for the film’s shooting, is set to join Vishnu Manchu for the climax shoot. Expressing his excitement, Vishnu Manchu stated, “It is thrilling to be shooting with Akshay Sir. We will kick off the film’s climax together. To have an actor of his mettle joining us is a huge honour. His addition makes Kannappa a truly Pan-Indian film.”
Directed by Mukesh Kumar, “Kannappa” draws inspiration from Telugu folklore surrounding an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. Vishnu Manchu portrays the titular character, Kannappa, depicted as a fearless warrior and atheist who undergoes a transformation into an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. According to Telugu folklore, Kannappa’s devotion leads him to offer his own eye to Lord Shiva. While Akshay Kumar’s role as Lord Shiva has been revealed, details about Kajal Aggarwal’s character are yet to be disclosed.
The star-studded cast of “Kannappa” also includes Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Nayanthara, Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi in pivotal roles. Produced by Vishnu Manchu’s AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, the film boasts the talents of Hollywood cinematographer Sheldon Chau, action director Kecha Khamphakdee, and dance maestro Prabhu Deva.
